Q/. Will the YourVirtualStore run on my host?

A/. YourVirtualStore is written in Active Server Pages (ASP). This is Microsoft's programming language for the web.

It will run on Windows Hosting companies.
It will run on many Unix hosting companies. Unix hosting companies need a special add-on called Chilisoft ASP.

Windows NT/2000 and Unix/Linux make up the vast majority of the possible web hosting companies on the web.

Will YourVirtualStore Shopping Cart run on PC

Can you run YourVirtualStore on your own PC? Maybe. Although ASP is Microsoft's programming language for the Internet, and Windows is Microsoft's operating system for your PC, Microsoft choose not to allow ASP to run under all Windows systems.

Do you have any of the following?

Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows NT
Windows 2K
Windows XP Professional
Then you can probably run ASP and therefore YourVirtualStore
Do you have any of the following:

Windows XP Home
Windows ME
Then you cannot run ASP and therefore cannot run our YourVirtualStore software. Microsoft has not put support into these two versions of Windows to display ASP files. See "Configuring Windows ME to run PWS"

You can still play with YourVirtualStore if your web hosting company supports ASP. See Windows Web Hosting

When will YourVirtualStore not run

Some ISPs are not web hosting companies. That means that allow you dial up Internet Access and allow you to create a web site but they do not support ASP or databases.

ASP is simply HTML that has program logic around it. YourVirtualStore requires a database to hold product details, orders, customer details. If your ISP does not support ASP and databases, then YourVirtualStore will not run.
