Q/. My ASP files display instead of running. What do I do?

A/. ASP files only run using a server that supports Active Server Pages. This include Microsoft Internet Information Server and for Windows 95/98 Microsoft Personal Web Server

Personal Web Server is supplied free on the Windows 98 Installation CD.

PWS must be configured so that the directory is a virtual directory to the Web server.

This is done by starting the Personal web Manager, selected Advanced and then adding a new virtual directory.

The alias can be any name. Suppose you select yvs500 as the alias. Then browse to the location on your disk where YourVirtualStore is installed. And click OK.

Now start YourVirtualStore via the server by typing

127.0.0.1/yvs500

You cannot start YourVirtualStore by just clicking on default.htm. You must start through the server by the magic numbers 127.0.0.1
